The day to pray
Today is the day. No, I’m not talking about the election. I don’t discuss politics in public.
Rather, today is the day to decide who we really trust. Is it the God who sits on high or the person who holds the highest elected office in the land?
Because the reality is that regardless of who wins today, God has already told us who wins in the end.
To pray is to take action
Today is the day for action. It’s the day to vote for sure. But more importantly, it’s the day to pray. When the Lord told Solomon to build a temple, He said this,
…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
You may have seen this verse on memes or social media status updates in the last few months. It’s a great reminder to those of faith…to humble ourselves, to pray, to seek God’s face, and to turn from evil. While this is not a direct promise for us, the principal remains the same. When we are seeking God, we receive forgiveness and healing.
The testimony of today is what happens when we pray. God works. And that is more than enough.
