Elohim – “El” means mighty or strong; “him (heem)” is plural indicating all three persons of the Godhead

In Genesis 1:1, Elohim is our Creator.

Key verse:

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31

God created all of the variety that we see in the earth today…and we find it to be beautiful. Wouldn’t it be nice if we saw ourselves through the same lens?

This week, as we profess God as our Creator, let’s take some time to be thankful for the way we were personally created. Let’s encourage others in our lives to embrace their own beauty. And let’s remind ourselves that God calls us beautiful and that is very, very good.

Thanks for creating community here with us! The Big Red Sofa Series is about the things I see in life that make me go hmmmm. What God teaches me in scripture. The ordinary things that God can use to drive home spiritual lessons. The questions I sometimes ask. The stories we can all share. So pull up a cushion and join me on the sofa. I’d love to hear from you!
