One word. One word to focus on for the entire year. To study, meditate on, and pray through. One word to ask God to show up in.

In 2013, my one word was supernatural. I prayed all year for God to do something supernatural in me and in my situation. And I believe He showed up. I started the year unemployed. I’m ending the year with a great job.

I started the year worried about finances. I’m ending the year without having missed a single payment all year.

I started the year concerned about being present for the birth of my second grandchild. I ended up spending five months out in CO with my daughter and her family.

Every step of the way, God provided exactly what I needed. I’d call that supernatural, wouldn’t you?

As I’ve prayed about my word for this year, the one thing that keeps coming to my mind is MIRACLE.

We are reminded over and over again in scripture about the miracles that God performed in the Old Testament. I Chronicles encourages us to remember,

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced…
I Chronicles 16:11-12

Jesus performed many miracles while He was here on earth…but we are also told in Matthew about some people who didn’t believe Him,

And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
Matthew 13:58

I want to remember God’s miracles. And I sure don’t miss any miracles this year because of a lack of faith. So I’m believing that 2014 is going to be a year of miracles. I’ll keep you posted on what God does!
