It’s October…or will be tomorrow since I’m posting this on September 30th. Where in the world has this year gone? In October, I’ll have been at my job for two years, my oldest grandson will turn five, and I’ll participate again in #write31days. Started by The Nester, the #write31days challenge pushes us to work on our writing every day for 31 days in a row. I participated for the first time in 2014 with my series, So That: 31 Days of Blessings. And I’m back again this October with a new series, 31 Days of Free Writing.
This year, I really wanted to challenge myself…so I’m using the prompts supplied by Kate Motaung, who hosts Five Minute Friday. Kate had the Five Minute Friday community vote on one-word prompts and then published the list of words. Part of the challenge for me is that the list is pretty random. So it’s a stretch to start with a word, and then figure out how it fits with the message I feel God has given me to share…and what we can all learn from that word.
And evidently I wanted it to be a double challenge, so I’ve decided to start a podcast. And you know, the month when I’m posting a blog every day seemed like the best time to start, right?! The podcast is called Living a Redeemed Life, and starting October 1, you will be able to subscribe via iTunes or Stitcher or you can listen right here on my site.
During the month of October, I’ll use the 5 Minutes of Free Writing prompts for my posts, and after writing them (or thinking about them), I’ll record a podcast and post it for you all to listen to. After October, Living a Redeemed Life podcast will release a new episode weekly.
It is my hope the podcast will be an extension of this community and that you will continue to be encouraged to live out the redemption gifted to us by God.
…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
